Remote Warehouse: Processing in 3-5 working days
The Zipp 303 XPLR SW is big enough for your biggest gravel goals. Just how big? This wheelset is the fastest on gravel, thanks to its mega-wide rim that integrates seamlessly with approved gravel racing tires.* Most gravel wheels are modified versions of existing road wheels, focusing on stiffness and lightweight. Zipp takes a different approach. In gravel, resistance and vibrations from bumpy surfaces create a barrier that slows riders down. To combat this, Zipp applied Total System Efficiency specifically to the challenges of gravel. The wide profile increases air volume, allowing for lower tire pressures without squirm. That means you mitigate surface vibrations while maintaining grip when cornering or traction while climbing. The rim profile also creates a seamless transition with gravel tires for unsurpassed aero efficiency on gravel. And while the 303 XPLR SW is built big, it’s still lightweight to keep you fast and fresh for those long, fulfilling days in the saddle. The Zipp 303 XPLR SW is compatible only with approved tires.
- *303 XPLR SW IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH APPROVED TIRES. The Goodyear XPLR Slick and Goodyear XPLR Inter are specifically designed and optimized for the 303 XPLR SW.

With the 303 XPLR wheels, the Americans from Zipp are once again breaking new ground. In recent years, gravel races have become significantly faster thanks to better material and increasing professionalization. With average speeds of 35 km/h and more not uncommon, aerodynamics are playing an increasingly important role. Zipp has taken this development into account and, with the 303 XPLR, has built its fastest wheels specifically for gravel tires.
Typical tire widths for gravel races are usually between 38 and 50 millimeters, which leads to an aerodynamically unfavorable “light bulb shape” in the profile in relation to the significantly smaller outer width of conventional gravel wheels. The Zipp 303 XPLR wheels therefore have an outer width of 40 millimetres and a profile height of 54 millimetres. With this rim profile, the most aerodynamically efficient wing shape with an almost seamless transition between tire and rim can be achieved with the right rim-tire combination, just like with modern road bike wheelsets.
As a side effect, the inner width has also been increased to a gigantic 32 millimetres, which allows you to ride a suitable tubeless tire with significantly less air pressure without the risk of the tire buckling uncontrollably in fast bends. In practice, this means more grip and significantly reduced vibration losses, which gives you more speed on rough gravel tracks with the same performance and at the same time makes you less tired on long distances. The optimum function is achieved with the Goodyear XPLR Slick and XPLR Inter tires specially developed for the Zipp XPLR wheels.
With the 77% wider rim edges of the hookless rims compared to the previous models, the 303 XPLR have become significantly more robust in the event of punctures and the risk of tire damage is reduced due to the larger contact surface on impact.
Despite their oversized dimensions, Zipp was able to keep the weight of the 303 XPLR SW wheelset surprisingly low at 1454 grams (weighed including tubeless valves), which makes the wheels an extremely efficient choice even for mountainous courses.
Total System Efficiency (TSE)
The 303 XPLR wheels were developed under the TSE approach. The development goal was to find the best possible wheel design to overcome the speed barriers that exist under realistic riding conditions. These include wind resistance, gravity and rolling resistance as well as vibration losses in poor road conditions.
ABLC Dimples
Similar to a golf ball profile, the ABLC dimples help you to reduce air resistance and crosswind susceptibility.
Zipp ZR1 hubs
The Zipp ZR1 hubs were developed in Germany over the course of two years. Their most striking feature is the extremely fine-toothed freehub body design of the rear hub with 66 engagement points per wheel revolution, which allows the ZR1 to respond to acceleration without delay. The fine toothing is realized via a system of 6 pawls, 3 of which engage in an offset manner. The design of the seals is based on the high-end Cognition hubs and provides more protection and durability with a larger dust cap behind the freehub body and better seals.
Zipp Lifetime Warranty
Zipp grants you a lifetime warranty on your Zipp wheel when used properly. The warranty also covers racing use and damage caused by riding errors as long as the wheel has been used for its intended purpose. The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and proof of purchase is mandatory!
