The chain rivet is used to open or close chains that are closed with a chain rivet pin. The construction holds the chain in place as the pin is pressed making it easy to precisely push the pin out or in. The force required for this is transmitted to the chain rivet pin via a rotary mechanism in order to gently push it out or in.
