About SRAM S-Series
The SRAM S-Series is a streamlined ecosystem of mountain bike and gravel drivetrains that consolidates nine legacy, mechanical and electronic lines into three distinct tiers: S100, S200, and S500. It simplifies part replacement and upgrades for bikes running on standard derailleur hangers.
The lineup is structured by performance and technology:
- S100: The entry-level mechanical tier, replacing SX and NX. It introduces an upgraded UDH Half Mount reinforcing plate for improved durability against impacts, and is backward compatible with past 11-50T or 10-50T Eagle cassettes.
- S200: The mid-level mechanical tier, replacing GX and non-Transmission X01/XX1. It offers lighter components, a larger gear range, and a more advanced derailleur clutch than the S100.
- S500: The premium wireless electronic tier, replacing AXS groupsets. It pairs perfectly with both MTB AXS controllers and drop-bar gravel shifters for versatile “mullet” builds
